Obsession of the Day: Burberry Heart-Print Wellington Boots

I'm a firm believer that you can learn to enjoy any weather as long as you have the proper attire. I spotted these fabulous Burberry Heart-Print Wellington Boots ($195) and fell instantly, madly in love. First of all, the print is a cheery take on the traditional Nova check for which Burberry is famous, which I personally adore. Second, they'll go with just about anything and third, you'll always smile when you wear them. It's like an adult take on children's rain boots without looking too juvenile. Fab, fab, fab.

Add these to your foul-weather wardrobe and then take heed of some advice from one of my favorite women of all time, author and advice columnist E. Jean Carroll: get yourself a pink umbrella. Pink umbrellas are like carrying your own personal lighting crew and every woman looks like an utter goddess under one. No need for frosted lighting (see Walters, Barbara and Streisand, Barbra)! When you add these fabulous Burberry boots to a pink umbrella situation, men will probably start throwing their coats over puddles for you. I am not responsible for anyone's dry cleaning bill when this happens. We'll consider it collateral damage.

Just don't add a pink cocktail or anything Hello Kitty to this ensemble. Cheery is attractive, cutesy is to be avoided at all times over the age of 11.
