New York Fashion Week: Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation Fall 2010

The Scene: The Ecco Domani show sure drew a crowd to the tents, including a few (random) celebs. Tinsley Mortimer was seated next to Constantine of American Idol fame. Molly Sims chatted away with Kate Walsh and Gossip Girl's Kelly Rutherford, while an obviously tipsy AnnaLynne McCord fought to keep her eyes open. (Editor's Note: Bryn and I were able to sit together for this show so this will be a tag team post. My favorite was Tinsley Mortimer hitting on Constantine Maroulis. Now, something tells me that they're a little more than acquainted. There appeared to be trouble in paradise there in the front row. I'm sure Us Weekly will get their hands all over whatever might or might not be happening there.)


Overheard In The Crowd: Our made-up conversation of what Constantine was saying to Tinsley during the show. While he stared at her legs. (Editor's Note: After a glass of Ecco Domani, Bryn and I can be quite amusing with these made-up conversations. You had to be there.)

The Collections: Four designers were showcased, each with a very particular aesthetic.

The Blonds kicked off the show with high glam, over-the-top pieces RuPaul would be proud of. (Editor's Note: As a huge fan of The Blonds, this was my favorite collection. Loved it, loved it, loved it. The Blonds for the win. Kate Walsh, if you're listening, this gold dress with the spikes? Make some phone calls. You need it.)

Prova's accessories collection focused on flowing silk scarves, some detailed with subtle, beaded fringe. (Editor's Note: I need one of these scarves in my life. The dresses were just a basic black canvas for the accessories is my guess.)

Prabal Gurung led with regal cashmere and wool coats in white, black, and soothing camel. (Editor's Note: Typical Prabal. Very good. Liked it.)

Siki Im's menswear collection was dark and modern - with innovative, risky takes on winter staples. (Editor's Note: There was a sweater/shirt combination situation that I feel a lot of men who are long and lean could rock. This is for tall, thinner types but definitely a sharp collection with an architectural/texture bent.)

Altuzarra was all about the goat. Separates included a coat with goat skin sleeves, and a somewhat intimidating goat fur jacket. (Editor's Note: I need the goat hair suit that was the first look in my life. Have that brought to my apartment. Actually, scratch that. I would have to move to be worthy of that suit.)

Salvor's many prints were wearable but not boring. The colors were classic (mostly black and white), which made the patterns more versatile. (Editor's Note: I honestly was too busy watching Tinsley and Constantine during this collection to do any kind of review. What Bryn said.)

Organic was my Ecco Domani participant of choice. His pieces had a modernized ladies who lunch feel to them, with traditional tweeds in not so traditional colors. (Editor's Note: This collection had Bryn written all over it. Downtown cool style in uptown, Park Avenue-approved fabrics. Loved it but yes, this is definitely a Bryn collection.


Overall, we loved it!
