NYFW: The What I Wore Diaries, Day One

The first day of Fashion Week was incredibly hectic. Here are the vital stats on the outfit and the schedule of the day:

The schedule
BCBG, Ports 1961, time at the fabulous Hautelook lounge at the Kelly Killoren Bensimon Jewelry preview, and Rosa Cha,then it was off to the insanity that was Fashion's Night Out. FNO started with a trip to Bergdorf Goodman (line was too long, couldn't conceive of standing in line to shop), Chanel (where my friend Katie purchased a Chanel jumbo - I died), then off to the Meatpacking District to party with the fabulous ladies of Purple Lab NYC at Scoop Street. Quick dashes to Mackage, Diane Von Furstenberg, Tory Burch and Vince finished the night for me at which point I retired to a diner to eat a very non-Fashion Week dinner of chicken fingers, fries and a soda.

The Outfit
Dress: Jones New York Lace Sleeve Twill Dress ($150)
Jewelry: Kym Motley Champagne Bubbly Necklace ($322) and a gorgeous limited-edition labradorite necklace that I'm going to convince her to make for you guys. :)
Handbag: Balenciaga
Shoes: Kenneth Cole 925 Collection Silver Belle pumps ($160)
Watch: Timex Women's Crystal Collection ($90)

Review of the Outfit: I was going for very ladylike glamour and I succeeded! Layering Kym's necklaces over that dress garnered a lot of attention and pairing it with the Kenneth Cole shoes it was a sure-fire hit (not to mention the absolute genius that is the Balenciaga handbag - I die again.) The dress was super comfortable, fitted and held up from zipping up at 8 am to unzipping exhausted and weary at almost 1 am. More on the Kenneth Cole shoes here in a minute but the outfit was super comfy and fun to wear.

Recommend Outfit For You? Yes! Wear this dress and any mixture of these pieces to work then out for drinks or dinner with friends or co-workers. This Jones New York dress was so comfortable and easy I zipped over to Macy's to purchase another dress just like it!
