Obsession of the Day: Foot Petals Triple Threat Pack

Let's face it: whenever a woman says a high heel is "super comfortable," she's kind of stretching the truth most of the time. I mean, the higher the heel, the more relative comfort gets in regards to, say, walking on broken glass. The shoe she's wearing all day is "super comfortable" compared to the pair of shoes that caused her to soak her feet in Epsom salts for two hours last Sunday morning while she begged for mercy from the footwear gods. Obsessions of the Day: My List of Birthday Favorites

Every day, I send you these lovely daily obsessions of little things that make my heart go pitter-patter. In honor of my birthday today, I thought I would give you a list of obsessions that would make my heart skip a beat. Here are my new obsessions in no particular order but with equal admiration:

The beauty floor at Bergdorf Goodman - This is one of the most beautiful things you will ever see, beauty addicts. It's sincerely one of the best curated collections of cosmetics, skincare and fragrance you will ever come across in an environment that is elegant and easy to navigate. When in NYC, it's a landmark experience that you will never forget. It's one of my favorite places in the entire city.

Fenton/Fallon For J. Crew - Every single item of jewelry in this collection is sheer perfection. This is a great way to pick up jewelry designer Dana Lorenz' pieces at a fraction of what her original pieces cost. I need everything single thing that she does and this diffusion line is no exception. This fringe cuff bracelet is $115. Buy it and wear it with everything.

Hanes Men's Undershirts - I adore T by Alexander Wang but not everyone can drop that kind of coin on a T-shirt on a regular basis. These soft, durable and sexy tees are a staple in my wardrobe and I purchase packs of them at a time in the tank and tee versions. I take them home with boxes of dye and change the colors, cut the necks, resew the sleeves, add chains and ribbons. Most of the tees I own I've made myself.

Levi's Denim - If you look in my closet, you will see a vast array of jeans, but you'll see quite a number of Levi's denim jeans in varying silhouettes and washes. I discovered 501's in high school and I've been a fan ever since. They always make me look my best and I'm a huge, unwaivering fan. I just wore my beloved pair of Levi's Demi Curve Skinnies in Nickel Grey ($59.50) last night.

Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet - If you read this site, you know that I'm completely obsessed with her fabulous party-worthy clothes. My goal at some point is to purchase at least one piece a month, like her "Jasmine" Bustier Dress ($495).

ADAM Ostrich Feather Skirt ($595) - This came blowing down the runway on the model and it took my breath away. Where oh where has this skirt been my entire life? Silken easy V-neck tee, a glittering arm full of bangles and some dangerously strappy shoes will complete a look that says EVERY DAY is my birthday.

Brian Atwood Shoes - All of us pledge our allegiance to a shoe designer at some point in our lives. Although I do adore my Diors, I have a particular passion for all things Brian Atwood, like these stunning "Loca" Studded Pumps ($800) that you can see in all their glory in the Sex and the City sequel out now (toward the end in Abu Dhabi when Carrie shows a little leg.)

Rick Owens - I bow to the high priest of goth tailoring and there isn't a fashion lover worth her salt that doesn't covet one of his mind-blowing leather jackets. Most women purchase a major designer bag to designate that they've made it. My money will be spent on a Rick Owens Organza-Trim Biker Jacket ($2,010.)

My Amazon Wish List - Most of us update them about once a month. I update mine about once every other day and it's filled with a fashion library I would kill for, movies I adore and other objects I desire, like this fabulous Canon Rebel XS 10.1MP Digital SLR Camera with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens (Black) ($499.)

Fashion Fun: Show Your Spirit With World Cup-Inspired Fashion

Here in Manhattan, we have serious World Cup fever. Bars and restaurants are prepping to show the games when they start airing this Friday, June 11th (which means some stockbrokers on the International desk will be coming in a tad intoxicated for work - just sayin') and everyone's picking sides. If you're Team USA, Brazil or another country (just pick a side -it's fun!), you can make your alliance known via some very cute summery fashion items that you can then rock the rest of the season, like...

These super cute Havaianas Flip Flops ($24). I spotted these yesterday and now I have to have a pair. Rock your team spirit in your team's colors with adorable thong sandals that you can wear forever. A celebrity favorite for years and widely lauded in the fashion community, I suggest multiple pairs.

Fashion Fabulous: The New Wardrobe Stars of Sex and the City 2

So, tonight's the night and I'm heading to a sneak preview of Sex and the City 2, courtesy of Coty Prestige and Sarah Jessica Parker's fabulous Carrie Bradshaw-inspired fragrance, SJP NYC. I'll give you some serious scoop on the fragrance and the event tomorrow (and if you want to follow the action tonight from the event, follow me on twitter and/or hashtag #SJPNYC), but as with any fabulous fashion event, I've done my homework and discovered some of the fabulous labels I'll be seeing this evening.

Here are the names that will be on everyone's lips after this weekend thanks to Patricia Field, Molly Rogers, their designer and vintage connections, and a healthy $10 million wardrobe budget:

Jee Vice - This French eyewear company is all over the movie, especially one Ms. Bradshaw. I already have two pairs of the stunners, but you'll see Carrie rock a pair of these fabulous Jee Vice "Heated" Sunglasses in Orange Jubilee ($170).

Charlotte Olympia - this London "It" girl already has a celebrity cult following (Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, Anna Paquin are just a few) and her 40's and 50's-inspired footwear is all the rage across the pond, in Hollywood and now on the feet of Ms. Bradshaw. Look for spectacular footwear from the designer, like these Dolly Leather Platform Pumps ($556).

 Halston Heritage - With SJP on the creative team, it's no wonder these dresses would wind up front and center in this movie but trust me, when you see them in person, they're FABULOUS. From the V-Neck Jersey Dress ($325) seen on the posters and the first shot of the film to the incredibly glam Metallic-Stripe Dress ($435), the revamp of the legendary design house hasn't seen this much action since they closed Studio 54.

Solange Azagury-Patridge - Ladies who lunch and those of us who are obsessed with fine jewelry know the work of this designing dynamo with an eye for gems and chains that are simply out of this world. That necklace on Carrie on the poster? Hers. A lot of the chains in the movie? Hers. The new "Carrie" necklace in the opening scene is 18ct white gold with diamonds, emeralds, sapphires, rubies and fire opals and it costs almost $200,000. Can we say UPGRADE?!?

Low Luv - Another fabulous accessories label, this rocker cool label is a personal favorite of yours truly, especially piece from their collaboration with model-turned-designer Erin Wasson. Look for pieces from the brand to pop up almost everywhere, including this Snake-Hinged Cuff ($245).

The Blonds - As a HUGE fan of this rock-and-roll label, to me they need no introduction. You've seen their work on Rihanna, Katy Perry, Fergie and countless other celebrities and they add a whole new level of drama to the wardrobes of Carrie and Samantha in Abu Dhabi. You know, like Samantha's fabulous red dress with all the spikes you keep seeing everywhere, previously rocked by RiRi?

I'll report back on trends and all sorts of other things tomorrow but go ahead and look up these fabulous designers so you can get a leg up on your friends in the fashion department. The time has come, ladies! Sex and the City 2 is almost here!

Obsession of the Day: Chrissie Morris Maia Tribal Sandals

There are some shoes that evoke an immediate and powerful reaction. This is such a pair.

I mean, just LOOK at them, people. We're talking stingray, suede and leather combined as a tribal-motif cutout sandal. The STILETTO HEEL is covered in stingray. The slingback is gathered suede. It has brass studs and a toe ring. 4" heels. This is a summer-covered stiletto heel. Gathered suede slingback. Toe ring detail, brass stud embellishment throughout. Heel measures approximately 4".

For those of you Carrie Bradshaw types who live for your shoes (myself included), this is a summer must-have. Can you imagine walking in for rooftop cocktails in something this gorgeous?
It almost doesn't matter what you wear with it: this shoe is the star of the look.

Maybe you can order and wear them for the premiere of Sex and the City 2 next week. After all, you have to dress for the occasion: you can't show up to meet your four best girlfriends dressed less than fabulous.

Obsession of the Day: Be & D Studded Memphis Flats With Studded Harness

I somehow screwed up my foot during spinning class before a date a couple of weeks ago, so I've been on a flat shoe kick ever since. I love a good ballet flat like everyone else, but there's something to be said for kicking up the classics: let's add some attitude in there, shall we?

This is why I'm now obsessed with these rocker chic Be & D ballet flats. First of all, they're coral pink (so classic ballerina with a moody twist), they're made from gorgeous pebbled leather, and they have a studded harness behind the heel. Could you DIE?!? I almost did. I'm a big fan of the label anyway, but these shoes might have us entering a whole new level of our relationship.

If you're looking for a comfortable shoe to kick up your look, look no further than this ballet flat with attitude. If Motley Crue played at Lincoln Center, this would be the lovechild of such a union. Let's take a walk on the wild side of classy, shall we?

Style Icon: Joan Jett

I am a rock and roll fan through and through, so it's no surprise that I adore this week's Style Icon, the fabulous and amazing Joan Jett. Beginning as a teen with The Runaways (I haven't seen the movie yet - yeah, I know) and then breaking out on her own before becoming the lead of the famous Joan Jett and The Blackhearts, Joan is a rock pioneer, a chick that performs as hard as she plays. Influenced by the glam rock scene and her own muse, Suzy Quatro, Jett's music has stood the test of time, with her famous remake of "I Love Rock and Roll" landing on Billboard's Top 100 Songs of All Time. Jett continues to produce records and sign artists to her label, Blackheart Records, now over 25 years old. She still rocks out and is one of my favorite glam rock/punk ladies out there.

Joan's style is borrowed from the boys who rock but it doesn't mean that it doesn't have her own feminine twist. Thinking of making an impact this weekend? Try her sporty rocker chic look from a concert where she wore then New York Jets Joe Namath's number during a concert in Norway during her band's heyday in the 80's. Let's go with an Alloy Baseball Tee ($24.90) and a pair of fabulous True Religion "Disco Billy" Black Straight Leg jeans in Homestead Wash ($295).

Let's put a new feminine twist on the item with a Fenton Fallon for J. Crew Necklace ($195) and some glam rocker-approved heels, like these Alexander McQueen Zipper and Skull Sandals ($795). They add just the right feminine touch for a current day homage.

Instead of playing the anthem we all know her for, I'm playing my personal favorite from the rocker, my personal anthem, "Bad Reputation." Joan, wherever you are, thanks for blazing the trail for all of us to be as bad ass as we wanna be.

Fashionable Footwear: A Sneak Preview of the Nine West Fall-Winter 2010 Collection

I was recently invited to The Palace Hotel's Madison Room to get a sneak peek at the forthcoming Nine West Fall-Winter 2010 Collection. The brainchild of Creative Director Fred Allard, there are no less than FIVE mini-collections that are sure to have all of you screaming toward a Nine West retailer in your town come fall. What genius, beautiful things can you expect this coming season? Let's take a look:

First up is Precious Heritage, which are described as "casual utility looks accented with suede, fur, strapping and buckle details." Think American West style with urban flair. The boots, clogs and accessories are fabulous accents for casual gear, ski vacations, or for taming the urban jungle. How you wear these luxe pieces is entirely up to you.

As the rock and roll fan that I am, you know I loved The Clash, which they described as "the 80's revived in hardware-driven looks; chains and zippers add some edge, and black and grey rule!" This is for those of us who have that passion for tall leather boots, rocker-inspired heels and slick details that will definitely be part of my closet come fall.

Next up is Toned Down, a mini-collection with "cosmetic hues highlighted with subtle metallics, soft prints and status hardware." This is a great ladies-who-lunch-inspired collection that provides great classic basics for any woman's wardrobe.

Then we had the gorgeous Jewel Box collection, which contains "saturated jewel tones anchored in black, everyday opulence in luxe velvets and rich leathers, red + black combos." I love drama in my accessories, so this was my favorite for evening. These are truly statement-making shoes and accessories.

I also loved Boy Crazy, which was described as menswear-influenced with touches of Victorian flourish, covered buttons, and lace-up details. All I have to say is the top photo with the camouflage-printed pony hair bag. Could you just DIE? I HAVE TO HAVE THAT BAG!
