The Ports 1961 Collection yesterday was a gorgeous experience, start to finish. Displayed on a dual runway with a Zen rock garden photo backdrop, the Oriental-influenced collection was a success for the label. The collection was a play in contrasts, with Japanese-influenced tailoring that took cues from everything from traditional kimono and obi styling to origami paper shapes playing against a color palette that was seeming derived from the nature of the nation, with sand, sea and cherry blossom pinks and floral peach hues playing against pewter and metallic accents.

The clothes were beautiful and displayed a strong knowledge of tailoring as well as a soothing color scheme that broadcasted an air of ease and comfort come spring. The skin was the centerpiece of the look with an influence on the eyes, which were accented with red eyeshadow and black mascara.

The collection drew quite a reaction from the crowd as those of us in attendance all agreed this was the collection to beat from the ones we had seen during the day. I'm sure Ivanka Trump, Tiffani Thiessen and Olivia Palermo, who sat front row at the collection, will agree.
