Charitable Chic: The DKNY "Chari-Tee"

I'm a fan of Donna Karan: the woman is one of the greatest American designers of our time. What is also truly inspiring is her amazing charity efforts, from her Urban Zen foundation to other projects. Recently, her DKNY label held an event at the Madison Avenue store to lend its support to CITYarts, an organization that empowers children and youth by bringing them together with professional artists to create public art that addresses civic and social issues, impacts their lives, and transforms their communities.

Of course, since Donna is involved, there is a fantastic fashion angle. DKNY has designed the "Chari-tee", a limited edition t-shirt that retails for $65 and benefits a whole host of NYC organizations. The hangtag on each shirt lists five NYC charities to which you can donate proceeds from the purchase of your shirt. Pick a charity, log on to dkny.com, and make your selection. DKNY will then donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of your Chari-tee to the worthwhile charity of your choice. It's a genius way to look good and do good at the same time. Totally Donna.

The organizations that proceeds from the sale of the shirt will benefit is as follows:
Giving back is always in style so if you find that you can give, please consider buying a shirt and making a contribution. With DKNY's fabulous Chari-Tee, this is really where it's totally ok to wear your heart right out on your sleeve (and the rest of you, for that matter) where everyone can see it.
