FSB Morning Juice: Los Angeles retailers, Cannes Film Festival and Fashion Week Daily

Down and Out In Beverly Hills: With Lambertson Truex, Mulberry and even French Connection shuttering stores in Los Angeles, retailers like Lisa Kline and legendary hair salons like Frederick Fekkai are looking to consolidate storefronts and buckle down for the recession. The days of celebutantes and the paparazzi who loved to film them dropping record-breaking amounts of cash on their black cards are definitely over. (WWD)

No We "Cannes" Not: The legendary display of wealth and decadence that we know and love as the Cannes Film Festival will be considerably less so this year with major sponsors pulling out due to the economy. Vanity Fair has canceled its annual celebrated party, Fendi and Swarovski are backing out of VIP nightclub Jimmy'z and the AmFar lavish AIDS charity fundraiser will be missing Louis Vuitton this year. Somewhere Robin Leach is weeping in his caviar. (Luxist)

Fashion Week Weekly? IMG’s publication, Fashion Week Daily, is now a weekly publication. In addition to our favorite Fashion Week daily seat reading and a website, they will now publish a weekly paper newsletter documenting the last week in style news. With larger newspapers dying on the vine and magazines holding on for dear life, is this unbridled optimism or do they know something we don’t? (Fashionista)

FSB Quote of the Day:"How do I do it? I don't know how I wouldn't do it - that's the thing."
