NYFW: Yigal Azrouel Shows A Strong Geometric-Inspired Collection for Spring 2010
After taking my seat at Yigal Azrouel, I was treated to a beautiful collection from the designer. Inspired by geometric shapes, the clothes that came down the runway seemed cut with laser-like precision, which introduced strong shapes and a silhouette to match.
Dominated by muted shades of sand, black, white and grey (with a few pops of color here and there), the runway was filled with easy cotton-linens that seem destined for many of our closets. Jackets with sharp shoulders and diagonal cuts gave constrasting sharp lines on otherwise easy fabrics, making this a collection that is city chic but infinitely comfortable.
The accessories were to die for, with stunning sunglasses that I will definitely be purchasing and other accessories designed by metal artist Darcy Miro that set the clothes off beautifully.
Entourage's Emmanuelle Chriqui was sitting front row and was just as dazzled by the rest of us by this strong collection. These infinitely wearable clothes will be keeping urban warriors ready for battle come spring.
