NYFW: The What I Wore Diaries, Day Two - Mercedes Benz Fashion Week
After the first day of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, my Friday was actually "lighter" in schedule but in order to save my feet for the long week ahead, I kept the cuteness factor up but the heels went away (i.e. flat shoes). I know, I know, there's no full-length body shot here but you'll have to imagine it. Here are the vital stats on the outfit and the schedule of the day:
The schedule
Cynthia Steffe, Hautelook lounge, Twinkle by Wenlan, Backstage at Charlotte Ronson, inhaled lunch with a friend at the Bryant Park Grill, work at Hautelook lounge, TRESemme presentation and then the Erin Wasson x RCVA show, then off to bed before what would turn out to be an incredibly busy weekend.
The Outfit
Tunic: I bought it as a sample sale a while ago and it has no tag, believe it or not! You can get a similar look with this Free People Checkmate Tunic (on sale for $39)
Jeans: Levi's Capital E Skimmer Skinny Jean ($158)
Jewelry: Kym Motley Lucky In Love Choker Necklace ($184)
Handbag: Balenciaga
Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell Ruffle Silver Zipper Detail Ballet Flat in Black ($130)
Watch:Timex Sport Women's Luxury 3 Hand Watch ($80)
Review of the Outfit: This was more rocker casual and it totally works. I'm a fan of edgy casual because it looks chic and urbane without trying too hard. You don't have to be dressed to the nines to attend fashion week. You just have to look GOOD.
Recommend Outfit For You? Absolutely. The tunic is very forgiving and comfortable and paired with slimming black skinny jeans, it makes everyone look thinner and cuter. If flats aren't for you, swap them for black boots or a cool black heel for evening, then pile on the jewelry and head out at night!
