Obsession of the Day: Freya Summer Plunge Underwire Bra and Thong
For those women who can just pop into Victoria's Secret and purchase any bra they want and walk out the door, let me just say that I envy you. I won't get into the details of my particular bra size, but let's just say that my cups runneth over. People who don't have this issue might think it's a good problem to have but let's be honest here: trying to find a comfortable and SEXY bra when you're well-endowed can be quite a problem.
Ladies of the large breast set, meet Freya. This gorgeous line of lingerie and swimwear is built specifically for those of us with larger cup sizes (they can go up to a 36G and a 38FF) and come in every style imaginable. They're amazingly sexy, have fabulous support that doesn't dig into your body, and they don't have (wait for it) ridiculously large straps. Yes! Our cries have been heard. I purchase at least five of these bras a year and my new love for summer is this gorgeous printed plunge bra for my deep V-neck tees. I also love the idea of this bra peeking out from under a burnout tank. Que bella!
If you're wearing lingerie this gorgeous, you should come with a warning sign: "Dangerous curves ahead."

Style Points: Historic Fashion and Beauty Commercials for Super Bowl Sunday
It's Super Bowl Sunday and some of us will be watching the game like it's a religious experience (GEAUX SAINTS!). For others, it's a good opportunity to eat more than you should, drink more than is advisable and feign some level of interest until the commercials come on. Even though most of us have DVRs now and fast-forward through any advertisement possible, this is the one night a year where we look forward to watching Madison Avenue earn its paycheck. I'd like to mark the occasion by paying homage to some of the best classic fashion, beauty and style commercials of yore:
Who could forget the legendary Cindy Crawford commercial with the denim shorts that she was ABLE TO FIT INTO THE NEXT TIME?
And then, of course, we have the Victoria's Secret Commercial for What is Sexy from 2002.
For you perfume fans, how about the Obsession by Calvin Klein commercials with Kate Moss?
And then, of course, Madonna and Missy Elliot hocking wares from the Gap.
Speaking of the Gap, two of my favorite people ever in a Gap commercial: SJP and Lenny Kravitz. Le sigh, le jealousy...
I would be remiss not to list some seriously old school commercials for fashion and fragrance, especially as a child of the 70's. Who doesn't remember these commercials for Charlie?
And we have to end it with my all-time favorite fragrance commercial: Jaclyn Smith in her ad for Epris. It's my favorite of ALL TIME.
Enjoy the big game and the new commercials for this year's Super Bowl tonight, y'all! WHO DAT?!? GEAUX SAINTS!

Obsession of the Day: The Lacie Panty from Victoria's Secret
I have officially reached an age where I no longer have the patience to wear underwear that is uncomfortable. You know what I mean: itchy, too tight, too loose, too ragged underwear that makes you want to throw your fist to the sky in anger and rip them off right in the middle of the street. Life is too short, folks. Underwear that not only looks bad under clothing but is uncomfortable is absolutely unnecessary. Cut that out. Cleanse. Release. Throw that madness in the trash.
Originally given to me at a function, I've tested and will now vouch for the soft, versatile and oh-so-sexy The Lacie panty by Victoria's Secret ($16). Seamless under clothes, soft and yes, as far as I can tell it's true - one size really does fit all. It's not tight, it doesn't roll and it's just generally good stuff. It's a panty that's so cute you might strut around in them at the gym without fear of the dreaded race to the shower because you forgot it's not cute to wear raggedy drawers in public. Date night, daytime, weekends, whatever - it's a good investment and I'm officially obsessed.
The Lacie by Victoria's Secret. $16 or current sale has them 3 for $30.

Holiday Gift Guide: Robert Verdi's Holiday Picks
Remember I sent you the notice to follow me on Twitter for Robert Verdi's Holiday Tweet-Up last week? Well, an epic time was had by all. Robert invited some of his favorite bloggers/social media peeps to enjoy a fabulous night at Luxe Lab where he gave us his picks for holiday gift giving.
Everyone at the party was madly in love with these amazing items and I can vouch for how happy these items make the person receiving them. If you're looking for last minute gift ideas, these are Robert's recommended items:
The Palm Pixi Smartphone (starting at $99 via Sprint), which combines swipe screen technology and a full QWERTY keyboard in one slim, petite little slice of technology heaven.
A gorgeous Carlos Falchi Large Metallic Shopping Tote ($220), which is amazing for running errands or showing up to brunch and making pretty much everyone jealous.
Fabulous cookies from Tasty Morsels Bakery (which can be made into a menagerie of shapes, including the ones shaped like his famous cranium, complete with sunglasses).
Fragrances from Ralph Lauren Polo Red White and Blue ($52.50) for men and the Harajuku Lovers Snow Bunnies Special Edition Collection ($30 each for full sized scents) for Women.
Sherpa for Sharpie Pen Covers ($29.95) for those of us who are writing utensil snobs and cannot live without large buckets full of Sharpies (which is not uncommon for those of us in fashion media...I'm not kidding).
A Portolano Cashmere Hat, Gloves and Mittens Set (various prices), which I haven't taken off since I got them.
Victoria's Secret Miraculous Push-Up Bra ($48-$52) and The Lacie Panties (3 for $30). This amazing bra can add up to two sizes to your bustline and the panty is truly one size fits all. Genius.
The Fresh Brown Sugar Bath Set ($75), which is perfect for the overworked bath lover. You know, like me.
The RJ Graziano Go Glam Set of 10 Crystal-Accented Bangles ($59.95), which are absolutely gorgeous. It's a big thing for a jewelry designer to acknowledge another one. They're simply stunning and are fabulous for evening. Hello, New Year's Eve is rapidly approaching.
Warm footwear is an absolute necessity. I admit to being an Ugg virgin until that night but now I live in this Ugg Australia Bailey Button Ankle Boots ($150). I'm also getting miles of wear from these absolutely beautiful cropped Moc-Toe boots from The Vintage Boot Company.
The movie lover in your life would sing your praises over a one-year gift subscription to Netflix ($167.88). If you want them to scream like they're in Oprah's audience, gift them the ROKU Netflix player ($79.99), which wirelessly streams movies from a Netflix queue to your television.
We all have to consult the experts and if you're an astrology reader like most of us, famed astrologer Susan Miller's 2010 Calendar ($15.99) is where it's at, people.
More photos from the event can be seen here.
These are genius last-minute gift ideas and coming from a celebrity stylist, how can you resist giving something that's red carpet approved? Print this list and take it shopping. Tell 'em Robert Verdi sent ya!

Holiday Gift Guide: Beautiful, Sexy Lingerie
Baby, it's cold outside and there's nothing that heats things up faster than sexy, beautiful lingerie. Whether you purchase these items for yourself or for a beautiful woman in your life, it's so true that nothing is sexier than confidence, which any woman should have in spades after donning these amazing lingerie ideas.
I love lacy underthings and this Kiki de Montparnasse Lucretia Bra ($195) and Ravished Garter Panty ($175) are beyond supersexy. Strut around in this outfit and you'll move differently. Trust.
Keep a medic on speed dial if you walk out in this Agent Provacateur Love Basque ($370). Better yet, make sure that you treat this outfit like an amusement park ride - whoever sees you in this has to be free from all neck, back and heart conditions.
Slightly more demure but no less alluring is this Victoria's Secret Ruffle Babydoll ($58). I have a hard time believing you'll be getting a lot of sleep in this one.
Where are my curvy girls? Got you covered, honey. This supersexy and flirty Betsey Johnson Intimates Chiffon Babydoll with Matching G-String Panty ($58.99) goes up to a size 2x. Work it, ladies!
Since you're bound to get a little closer with all this lace-clad lack of clothing, might I suggest you come prepared for the situation? The Lush Bewitched Massage Bar ($11.45), which the company claims is about as close to a love potion as you're bound to get. It contains essential oils like violet leaf (restores friendly bonds), lime oil (gets rid of apathy) and chamomile(helps one to forget the past).
Lock the doors and turn off the phones, kids. With these lingerie picks that can be ordered in time for Christmas if you hurry, you're bound to heat up the holiday.

The Breakover Diaries: Clean Out Your Underwear Drawer
Ok, so I've made you clean out your closet and some of you wanted to burn me at the stake for even suggesting that you repurpose your ex's clothes for your own wardrobe (evidently, you'd rather shove your carbon footprint up his ass by burning these items), but now it's time to get serious about the final frontier: your underwear drawer. This is sacred territory for most women, so I know that I'm nosing into hallowed ground of fashion territory but this needs to be done. If you're going to bring sexy back at some point, you need to make sure that you're ready to go.
Actually, the reason you're doing this is even bigger than being sexy to someone else. No outfit can truly look its best without proper undergarments. How many times have you busted out of the house and realized you're wearing the wrong bra for your top or dress? Show of hands? Let's not have that happen again, shall we?
Before you begin, head to your local lingerie department or lingerie boutique and get properly measure for a bra. Your bra size changes for all sorts of reasons (and more frequently than you think), so in order to keep the girls facing upright get fitted at least once a year. Try on different types of bras so you can see how each one looks and fits you. Be sure to leave the store with one good basic t-shirt bra and something sexy that makes you want to turn on a little Prince with a glass of wine in your hand. You can buy other types later. Return home.
Now, pour yourself a glass of something fun and grab a trash can. Make three piles:
- Keep
- Giveaway
- Trash
- Crash*
- Trash: this is any item that is absolutely destroyed, in horrible condition, has stains (don't "ew" me, we all have periods and accidents happen), tears or elastic shooting out of the sides. Victoria's Secret has a semi-annual sale for a reason, people: get new underwear! Granny panties and huge shiny panties are also no one's friend. Get RID of these items. Bras that are beyond repair and don't fit (see: visit lingerie shop to get measured) can go straight into the bin as well. Your shapers that are shot to Hell also go in the trash. Pajamas that are frumpy or have feet in them should be burned, but I'll let you decide whether to trash or give them away.
- Giveaway: Most organizations won't take used panties, so there is no panty giveaway pile. Bras that don't fit but are in good condition (or can quickly be mended) might be acceptable for giveaways. I'll let you decide how you want to handle pajamas that you don't love anymore but remember that if you put footie pajamas in an adult woman size out there in the Universe, some other woman will have to do what you've just done and that's bad fashion karma.
- Keep: This is a pile for bras, panties, shapers and pajamas that are in good condition and you love them. They should be of excellent quality and make you feel like a million dollars when you wear them.
I mentioned the Crash pile. Because you might be in emotional distress over throwing out Day of the Week underwear, I'm allowing you to keep a small stash of things that you are allowed to wear ONLY when no one is going to see them. You are allowed three pairs of panties that must be in good condition (absolutely NO GRANNY PANTIES), and one nightgown/pair of pajamas that only you understand why you love them so. Keep them AWAY from your lingerie drawer to ensure you have to make a special effort to wear them. They might save you on laundry day. But remember, if George Clooney stops by and wants to have a little sexy time, it's your fault you wore them. Always be prepared, ladies.
Your underwear drawer brings you karma, ladies. Frumpy is as frumpy does, so when you broadcast that feeling of "ugh, I wouldn't want someone to see me in these" out there, trust me, men will pick up on that and they'll stay away. Even if you're not ready to date yet, you need to feel better about yourself and walking around in underwear that is threadbare is not helping matters. When you demand that everything that everything that surrounds you is of the best quality down to the garments that touch your skin, trust me, the rest of your life will follow suit.
